257. Harold Daniel YUDELSON^6,48 was born on 2 December 1923 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.⁴⁸ He served in the military. Shirley Mosinger remembers that Harold was a replacement after the Battle of the Bulge with the 82nd Division or th 1st Division.
He was wounded in Germany, the same day that FDR died.
There was a black division with them, who took more casualties because they were on the unprotected side of the street.

Julian Yudelson shared Harold's inscription in a book, Roll me over: An Infantryman's Word War II by Raymond Gantter. The inscription on the frontpiece reads as follows:
I was assigned to B Company, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division and was put in charge of the 3rd Platoon on Mar 1, 1945. At Gladbach German (page 188) for the next 6 weeks. I probably was never more than a mile away form Co 6 and Gantter.
I got hit in the leg by a submachine gun in the last house in Herzberg preparing for an attack into the mountains on April 12, 1945 (page 319).

page 320, regarding President Roosevelt's death on April 13, 1945:
They took the bullet out late last night and told me about Roosevelt when they woke me for breakfast. He was a business and investing. Harold died on 21 November 2016 at the age of 92 in Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia, USA. His obituary was published in the Atlanta Journal Constitution on 22 November 2016 . YUDELSON, Harold D. Harold D Yudelson, age 92, passed away on November 21, 2016. He was born in Atlanta to the late Sol and Anne Spielberger Yudelson, both of blessed memory. Harold embodied the southern ideal of someone who never knew a stranger, and his family and friends reveled in his warmth, generosity and spirited opinions. Harold served in the US Army, First Infantry Division as a First Lieutenant during World War II. He was wounded in Germany and awarded the Purple Heart. A Boy's High graduate, Harold was attending the University of Pennsylvania when he enlisted in the Army. After the war, he returned to finish his studies at Penn ("We got back a little late, we're the class of '48!"), where he would meet the love of his life, the late Jane Betty Zion Yudelson, of blessed memory, to whom he was married for nearly 67 years. Harold was a successful businessman who took a profound interest in anything to do with Atlanta. He loved the city and delighted in its civic and cultural growth. He served as the Chair of the Board of the Wren's Nest, and as President of Atlanta ORT, and was actively involved in several other civic organizations over the years. Harold is survived by three daughters: Robin Rosenberg (Fred) of Atlanta; Terry Stetzner (Bill) of Belgrade, Montana; and Karen Sandler (Joe) of Washington, DC as well as six grandchildren: Jason Taylor (Kirsten), Ted Taylor (Tami), Ben Rosenberg (Annie), Pete Rosenberg (Debbie), Nora Sandler and Eli Sandler, as well as eight great-grandchildren. Harold Daniel YUDELSON and Janie Betty ZION were married on 6 June 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.⁴⁸ They⁴⁸ lived at 650 Peachtree Battle Av NW in Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia, USA in November 1953.¹⁰⁴ Janie Betty ZION, daughter of Robert Bernard ZION and Lillian SABEL, was born on 15 August 1926 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA.⁴⁸ She died on 29 May 2015 at the age of 88 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
