She died on 24 May 2016 at the age of 44.265 from Ahavath Achim email forwarded by Betsy Teplis: Brenna Dawn Segal, age 43, of Sandy Springs, GA passed away unexpectedly on May 24th, 2016. Born at Northside Hospital, she was a fifth generation Atlantan.... She was well loved and respected by many. She was active as a Jewish youth leader in BBYO and Camp Barney Medintz. She was a graduate of Riverwood High School, Class of 1991; Harvard University, Class of 1995; and earned her doctorate degree from the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 2005. She was the proud owner of the Cat Clinic of Cobb where she dedicated her life to her practice daily. She was loved and respected by her patients and pet families; they will miss her greatly. She embraced life fully as an avid hiker and lover of the great outdoors. One of her favorite places to be was on the Appalachian Trail, especially Blood Mountain. She touched many around her. Brenna was incredibly philanthropical, volunteering for the Humane Society and acting as a board member for Mostly Mutts. Brenna was a loving and special daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who is survived by her parents, Jill and Joseph Segal; her brother and sister-in-law, William and Julie Segal; her nieces, Madelyn and Ava Segal; her nephew, Levi Segal; her Uncle and Aunt Jeff and Giselle Toran; her Aunt and Uncle Wendy and Bruce Pearlman; and her fiancé, Pamela J. White, all of Atlanta, Georgia. She was the widow of Joy Bruce, formerly of Atlanta. She was the proud parent of her pets Nutter Butter, Oscar, Sanford, Moo Kitty, and Jolie. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Public services for Brenna are Thursday, May 26th, at 2pm in Ellman Chapel, AA Synagogue, 600 Peachtree Battle Ave., Atlanta, GA 30327; private internment to follow. Shiva will be observed on Thursday evening, May 26th, at Jill and Joe Segal's house at 6:30pm.
