137. Alvin SAUL⁶ was born on 10 May 1926.¹³⁵ He died on 21 January 2005 at the age of 78 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.¹³⁵

ROSLYN SAUL OBITUARY
Roslyn Saul, age 94, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2024. Born in Savannah to Sam and Mary Blanch, Roslyn was raised mostly in Miami and graduated from Miami Beach High School. As an only child, she was very close to her aunts and uncles and their children, most of whom lived in Florida.
Roslyn returned to her home state to attend the University of Georgia, where she met and married her loving husband of 58 years, Alvin, who predeceased her. In addition to raising their six children (Nancy, of blessed memory, Judy, Harriet, Sam, Mitzi, and Dinah), she enjoyed being part of the Atlanta Jewish community, playing sports at the JCC, singing in the choir at Ahavath Achim synagogue, and performing alongside Alvin in musicals sponsored by their local B'nai Brith chapter. She was also a lifetime member of Hadassah, and a volunteer at the Jewish Home in Atlanta.
In the 1960s, Roslyn and Alvin served as co-presidents of the PTA at Margaret Mitchell Elementary School in Atlanta. They loved attending their children's performances, sports competitions, and other events and mitzvahs. For years, the Sauls hosted a festive New Year's Day party at their home for friends and family, and they were 50-yard-line season ticketholders to Georgia football games. They also loved playing cards -- Roslyn played Bridge with her close girlfriends, and she and Alvin played Pinochle with other couples.
After retiring to Daytona Beach, Florida, Roslyn and Alvin had an active life there, playing tennis, visiting Florida relatives, and socializing with friends. For many years, Roslyn took care of her mother, who lived next door. They also enjoyed helping others in their new community. For example, they donated a house to the Junior League of Daytona Beach, which was renamed the Family Tree House and used as a comfortable, home-like environment in which families could have court-ordered supervised visitation.
After Alvin died, Roslyn returned to Atlanta, and continued to keep busy, enjoying visits from loved ones and teaching Bridge as a volunteer at a local senior center. Friends often remarked how she always had an open home, inviting loved ones to pop in whenever they felt like it and stay as long as they wanted. Through the years, the Saul house was also filled with myriad pets who were enjoyed by the whole family and lovingly cared for by Roslyn.
Survivors include Roslyn's children Judy Fenster (Abe, of blessed memory), Harriet Jeneff (Tom), Sam Saul (Robin), Mitzi Saul (Dave), and Dinah Welch (David), her grandchildren Sherri Berger (Ian), Robert Saul (Jenny), Tracy Berger (Jovette), Jared Welch, Marissa Saul, Emory Saul, and Riley Saul, and great-grandchildren Aviva, Elliot and Preston.
Roslyn lived a long and happy life. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no memorial service or shiva. The Saul children would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers who helped support their mother over the last several years, including the staff at Manor Lake Assisted Living and the staff from Weinstein Hospice. Contributions in honor of Roslyn's memory can be made to Weinstein Hospice or the charity of one's choice.
