7. David SAUL^6,19,20,21 was born in March 1840 in Jonava, Lithuania.²² He immigrated in 1882.²¹ He resided at 47 Piedmont Ave in Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia, USA in 1910.²¹ David died on 29 June 1911 at the age of 71 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.¹⁸ He was buried at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia, USA.^19,20,23 Block J-11, Row R-7, grave 19, section 16 He was a seller of food stuffs. Judith Saul Stix documented David's early travels in The Wise Child's Book. He seems to have come to America with his sons about 1881, staying in New York for a few years. He is listed as a peddler in the city directory of 1886 residing at 44 Allen Street on the Lower East Side. He is also listed for several years at 218 Madison on the Lower East Side. About 1890 he moved to Washington, DC where he went into the dry goods business with Jacob Shappirro, his future son-in-law. They resided at various addresses in the 900 block of D Street, NW. It was at this time, about 1892 or 93 that he changed his name from Sholsky to Saul. Sometime before 1900, David returned to New York and brought Gittel to the US. They are recorded in the 1900 Census residing with their sons, Harris and JJ, and daughter-in-laws, Sarah and Bessie. By the 1910 census, they had moved to 47 Piedmont Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia. David had retired.

David SAUL and Gitel R. "Gussie" FINE were married. Gitel R. "Gussie" FINE^{6,18,20,24,25,26}, daughter of Abram FINE, was born on 6 September 1844.²⁷ Shelah Gershon Saul gives an alternate birthdate of May, 1842 in her family tree. She died on 23 July 1923 at the age of 78 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.^19,25 She was buried at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia, USA.²⁰ Block J-11, Row R-7, grave 20, section 16 One document, the marriage certificate of her son JJ and Bessie Price, gives Gittel's maiden name as Klorfine. Another, her death certificate gives her father's name as Abraham Fine. In the 1910 census, Gittel told the census taker that she had borne seven children of whom five were still living. Evelyn Litt remembered her as bedridden in the last years before she died, still wearing a shaytl, an Orthodox Jewsih married woman's wig. Mynette Segal reported that every member of the family was expected to go to see Gittel, the matriarch, once a week. She kept track and was severe with those who skipped. David SAUL and Gitel R. "Gussie" FINE had the following children:
